Shayanpally Project
Before the year is out, we may see the
groundbreaking of yet another project. A
It is proposed that initial training will
be limited to Computer skills, Spoken English and for women, Nursing Assistant
skills. Computer subjects will include Office Applications, Accounting
Programs, Desk Top Publishing and CAD Packages. Students will be drawn from
high school and junior college graduates of the surrounding villages.
A novel feature that will be implemented in
this project is that “loans” will be provided to the students to
cover the “fees”. Once the students pass out and get jobs, the
money will be recovered. Though recovery is not expected to be 100%, this
method will certainly reduce the financial burden on the sponsors.
The board is examining ways and means to
make this into a Training cum Production center rather
than just a training institute, thus helping the beneficiaries get employment
locally.
The project will be implemented in a phased
manner, expanding only depending on evidence and quantum of impact on the local
population.
A project report is under preparation and will be
submitted to the donors for final approval and funding. The first phase
building drawings (for 9,250 square feet plinth area) have prepared and sent
for costing.
